Balmain Dolphins by Geoff Hargraves.

A dolphin is a harbour structure used to allow ships to moor while waiting for a berth at a wharf. In the age of tall sailing ships many dolphins were needed for the working Harbour in Sydney.

This original painting is of two workmen I saw doing some work on a dolphin near Balmain. One appeared to be working while his mate attempted to keep the seagulls from attaching him. I can only guess the gulls had nests there. H40 xW 60 x 2, Frame 43 x63 x3 white floating frame. ready to hang.

oil paint on an ACM panel (aluminium). it has a white shadow frame, and is ready to hang.
