This painting was inspired by a visit to Cockatoo Island in Sydney Harbour.

This Island has been used for ship repairs and building since the early days of the colony of NSW, long before Federation of states that is now Australia. This is a bollard used to tie up ships, the marks and colours of rust and wear on the steel inspired this painting.
