This is from a varied Edition. This linocut plate has been hand coloured "A la Poupee" before hand printing. It celebrates a little blackbird we found when out trekking on Lord Howe Island which is East of the NSW coast of Australia. The island was affected by a drought and this little bird began hopping along in front of us, leading us to a water tank. I turned on the tap for him to get a drink, but the water sank into the ground almost as quick as it hit it. Nearby were 3 little seashells, so I collected them and filled with water and placed beneath the tanks tap. The little blackbird drank his fill.
