This is a limited edition reduction linocut. It is also a variable edition, as there are variations between each of the 15 prints. The plate from which this has been printed was destroyed in the process of making these prints, so an increase to 15 is not possible.

The back ground has had quite a lot of transparency medium mixed with the ink to portray the winter sky with some light cloud and some contrails from jet airliners.

Black Mountain is to the west of Canberra, Australia’s capital city.

This is the view of it from Mt. Ainslie which is on the other side of Canberra.

The clear air and the oil from the gum trees give the Australian hills a blue colour.
