3642 at Central. W72cm xH92cm x4cm

A$1,200.00

Acrylic painting on Stretched Canvas. W79.5cm xH95cm x5.5cm, in a floating light wood frame, varnished and ready to hang with D hooks and wire on the back.

This is a painting of locomotive 3642.

3642 is rare, being 1 of only 3, of the 36 class steam Locomotives existing, and the only one still in operational condition.

Built at Clyde Engineering at Granville NSW in 1926, 3642 was one of 65 built at Granville.. 75 engines made up the 36 class.

3642 is a good representative example of a 36 class locomotive. It is representative of a mainline passenger engine of the 1920s to 1960s period immediately prior to dieselisation, representing the class in its final form.
