Second Wave (W 106 x H 56 x 2 cm)

A$1,030.00

I began surfing on boards in the mid 60's and learnt to count the waves, as they would arrive in sets of bigger waves. and intervals between the sets when there would be smaller waves. Those that didn't understand this would be caught inside of a breaking wave, and before leg ropes which attached the board to the surfer, it would mean a big swim back to the shore to collect the board.

this painting shows a wave breaking past the viewers wave. It is a larger wave and a surfer is taking off on it. several surfers are shown just past the breaking wave, and several; are inside of the breaking water and about to roll under the white water.
