Wooli Beach track
A$930.00
oil on cradled wood panel. ( 80 x 60), unframed, ready to hang.
This is the 4 WD. track for access to Wooli Beach at the southern end of the beach next to the breakwall.
The breakwall was built during the late 60s to allow the fishing fleet to safely cross the river bar.
(unfortunately, by the time it was completed the larger trawlers had departed due to the river silting up.)
From the viewers point this used to be deep water past the breakers, before the wall was built. Myself and a couple of others used to surf the mouth as it was called before " the wall".
The sand has built up along this corner of the beach and across the river at Jones' beach, robbing the long Wooli beach of much of the sand that used to be there.
